Kindergarten Wrap Around

Kindergarten Wrap Around

At Time For You Playcare we provide a safe classroom environment, in which the children are able to continue their kindergarten learning through a curriculum that is shaped parallel to that of the Shenendehowa School districts. Our Kindergarten wrap around program is designed to provide care for the AM student after your child attends kindergarten, and for the PM student before your child attends kindergarten. Our low Teacher to child ratio allows us to better assist development for every child in these 4 categories.

Cognitive

Our daily curriculum has been created to coincide with that of Shenendehowa school district and our use of creative center-based education will encourage your child’s cognitive development in these 4 subjects.

- Mathematics

- Literacy/language

- Science

- Social Studies

Emotional/Social

At this age children start to form their own “self-help” strategies. We allow the children to be independent in their decision making while encouraging them to solve problems and make connections appropriately. As educators we encourage all children to express themselves through play, art, writing and more!

Physical

Getting up and getting moving is crucial in every child’s development. It is important to us that children get outside every day or spend some time in our large motor room allowing children to explore through active play! We also incorporate physical activities in our daily lesson plans and curriculum. An example of this would be themed learning activities like 'The Letter Y' by understanding the sounds the letter makes, practicing our handwriting, and ending the lesson with some Yoga!

Learning through play!

Learning through play is a key factor in development at the kindergarten age. On a daily basis the children are able to learn new things through self-discovery, and are challenged in every aspect of development. Social, emotional, cognitive and physical development are focused on by simply playing with your peers. Some of our favorite ways to learn through play are setting up dramatic play centers! An example of this is creating an ice cream stand the children operate and shop at! The use of turn-taking with peers, mathematics and money, and even using appropriate social skills, are just a few ways we love to have fun and learn when we play!
